By the time a third movie comes around people start calling it a franchise. When something becomes a franchise it starts being more about moving products than seeing a movie. Any item they can throw a Spider-Man sticker on becomes grist for the media mill. The bigger the franchise the more crap they can sell. As long as product is moving out the door it almost doesn't matter whether the movie is good or not. It's actually a relief to sit down in a theater to see Spider-Man 3 so you can judge the movie on it's merits not its paraphernalia. |

After countless spin offs the real deal is here: Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. The Pokemon craze has been around for years. Ever since the Red and Blue versions hit way back, Pokemon has been huge. It's tried and true formula has worked for over ten years, and it's pretty apparent that the formula isn't going to die now. Pokemon Diamond and Pearl are a lot like the Pokemon games that preceded it, but they've really thrown in some good touches here. Still, most players who've been playing since the Gameboy days, or even as recent as the GBA days will still get a "been there, done that," feeling. Still, the game is good, addictive and it will keep you busy for hours on end. |

The Nintendo Wii is quite revolution in its own right. With all the things it can do, it's hard to say it won't be competition for the market this year. What it boils down to is what you like. If you want a console for some gaming fun, then the Wii is definitely for you, in more ways than one. Simply put, you'll have a blast with this thing. |
