In case you haven't tuned into the news the past day or two. The hosts of the Fox Network show "Red Eye" attacked the Canadian Military just days of 4 brave Canadian soldiers died in battle. Ofcourse the Canadian Government was quick to react demanding an apology for the comments portrayed on the show. You can watch the segment on Youtube at the following link

So for the long weekend we decided to go to Niagara Falls, Canada. We booked tickets for oneway ( we where going to meet someone and comeback with them ) over the internet. Printed the tickets. And everything so far was going just fine.

PETA once again is in the news, not for "saving" animals, but because it decided to run an ad comparing the recent horrific beheading of a 22-year-old Canadian on a Greyhound bus to the slaughter of animals for human consumption.

Needless to say, the Portage Daily Graphic has decided not to run the ad.

The marvel of Grand Theft Auto's open ended free roaming environment before any of the other games like it, made it the pioneer of the very genre of which dozens of other game titles have spawned from. Yet regardless of all those attempts by other companies to cash in on the experience, GTA has remained at the forefront of the very genre it introduced to the world.

I picked up Burnout Paradise and I am searching for the words to describe the game. And all I have to say is I love it. It takes racing to a whole new level. I will have to say theat the IGN Review of the game is by far the most fair and the most accurate. Below is the IGN review of the game. All I have to say is that Burnout Paradise takes all the good things from burnout and GTA and mixes them with a little bit of Need for Speed. Thus creating one the most open racing games that I have seen.

Criterion Games' Burnout franchise has now long been the king of arcade racing. Its tight controls and overwhelming sense of speed have catapulted it to the top of the genre, and few games have come even close to matching the series' strengths. But while Criterion has garnered tons of praise from both gamers and critics alike, the studio never sits still. With every release, the developer tweaks the core formula in an attempt to offer something new to gamers.

You know those big monster movies where Godzilla or Kong is rampaging around destroying everything? Did you ever wonder what it was like for the average citizen that was caught in the middle of a mess like that? Cloverfield asks just that question.

The idea of Cloverfield is a guy is given a video camera and is asked to film a going away party for his friend. He's busy filming when something earth shaking happens. Then he carries the camera with him for the rest of the movie. He documents what happens to him from ground level as he and his friends run away and sometimes toward very dangerous things.

This is a really effective movie. By placing the whole movie from the view point of mostly one character it creates an almost real feeling to the events in the movie. Sometimes there are jarring camera moves while things are destroyed. Dizzying pans while characters run from one event to another. There are even pops of an old recording being taped over by the camera guy.
