PETA once again is in the news, not for "saving" animals, but because it decided to run an ad comparing the recent horrific beheading of a 22-year-old Canadian on a Greyhound bus to the slaughter of animals for human consumption. Needless to say, the Portage Daily Graphic has decided not to run the ad. The recent murder and beheading of Tim McLean on a Greyhound bus has been widely reported.

The marvel of Grand Theft Auto's open ended free roaming environment before any of the other games like it, made it the pioneer of the very genre of which dozens of other game titles have spawned from. Yet regardless of all those attempts by other companies to cash in on the experience, GTA has remained at the forefront of the very genre it introduced to the world. |

I picked up Burnout Paradise and I am searching for the words to describe the game. And all I have to say is I love it. It takes racing to a whole new level. I will have to say theat the IGN Review of the game is by far the most fair and the most accurate. Below is the IGN review of the game. All I have to say is that Burnout Paradise takes all the good things from burnout and GTA and mixes them with a little bit of Need for Speed. Thus creating one the most open racing games that I have seen. Criterion Games' Burnout franchise has now long been the king of arcade racing. Its tight controls and overwhelming sense of speed have catapulted it to the top of the genre, and few games have come even close to matching the series' strengths. But while Criterion has garnered tons of praise from both gamers and critics alike, the studio never sits still. With every release, the developer tweaks the core formula in an attempt to offer something new to gamers. |
